The Faculty of Science actively researches phenomena occurring in Thailand at its Bioactive Substances Research Unit and Field Research Station. The Theoretical Superconductivity Research Unit is also increasing our knowledge in this area of high technology for the future benefit of the nation. Recent research has included investigations of nuclear characterization and fission, land use categories and biodiversity in forests and protected areas, shrimp neuropeptides and immune systems, anticancer properties of compounds extracted from plants, and gems and apparel design.
Apart from research, the Faculty brings science and mathematics to the public through teacher refresher courses, summer science camps and on-demand scientific services.
The Faculty of Science has five departments: Biology, Chemistry, General Science, Mathematics, and Physics, offering degree programs from the baccalaureate to the doctoral levels. Many of its degree programs are offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Education to enhance the teaching of science and mathematics nationwide.
